Mathematics Major | University of Nebraska at Omaha | Scott Scholarship Recipient
I chose to pursue the field of mathematics, specifically computational mathematics, because I enjoy the satisfaction of applying math to the outside world. Ever since I was young, I've had a passion for problem/puzzle solving, and on top of that, I love math. It seemed only fitting that I would choose a major that combined both. Using the knowledge I gain as a Scott Scholar, I intend to find ways to help people, companies, and nations with their problems involving debt.
Outside of the classroom, I immerse myself in soccer. Whether it be cheering on my favorite team (FC Barcelona), playing competitively, or training in the yard, I am always around soccer, or futbol. Hard work in the sport has enabled me to experience some unforgettable things. Recently I was invited by a professional team, Villarreal C.F., to train in an expense-paid trip to their facilities in Villarreal, Spain. For two weeks I lived there, trained with their teams, and experienced life as a pro. It was an incredible experience that I will never forget.
Bede Fulton's soccer skills lands him in Spain | Lincoln Pius X Catholic High School
Senior Bede Fulton received the opportunity for a 10-day trip to Spain for his technique on the field with a soccer ball. Through Fulton's soccer club Villarreal Academy, he attended a camp back in the summer where he was selected for his intensity, footwork and accuracy.
Music is another important part of my life. In high school, I served as my show choir's dance captain. Additionally, I was a part of the Pius X varsity chamber choir, acapella mens choir, and the Harmony Explosion barbershop chorus. In the past three years, I've been honored with numerous selections to the NMEA Nebraska All-State Chorus and Nebraska All-State Show Choir. Music will always hold a special place in my life, and I plan to continue singing wherever I can throughout college!
